Folsom offers wonderful recreational activities right in your backyard. There’s Folsom Lake, Lake Natoma and the American River with boating, water skiing, swimming, hiking, biking on the American River bike trail, horseback riding, and fishing.
The Sutter Street historic district has 80+ shops and restaurants, big box stores and the upscale Palladio at Broadstone, (the 54 acre open-air mall) plus Folsom Premium Outlets is available for those who enjoy shopping.
Folsom Parks and Recreation offers activities for all ages. The Folsom Zoo is a favorite with families. There are concerts in Folsom City Lions Park in June and July and Wednesday night concerts in June at Palladio.
The Aquatic Center opened in May of 2013. Folsom Lake College has the Three Stages where residents enjoy concerts and plays through the year. Adults and children participate in soccer, volleyball and other sports at the Folsom Sports Complex.
Folsom is a bicycle kind of town. There are competitive and non-competitive rides. There is an activity called Cyclebration each September and the annual Great Scott Ride in May.
Folsom’s homes range from Victorians in the old-town area to large homes overlooking Lake Folsom, the American River and the Sacramento Valley.
Features of interest in the City’s Civic Center include the Folsom Community Center, the Folsom Public Library, the Gallery at 48 Natoma, the Folsom Senior Center, sports fields, a picnic area and gazebo, and more.
